Saturday night I had the privilege of sponsoring an amazing series. The Artist Mixer is a series that showcases artist and entrepreneurs while providing them a safe space to network and perform. There were so many amazing artist there! This function was put together by Coco Bella, a creative lover of all things art and all things fashion. Her vision is to provide an outlet for artist to come together and display their talents as well as network and build relationships. Everyone who walked through the door came prepared to promte themselves and their product. The Artist Mixer was hosted by DaRuddest Jones, an amazing poet that is known for captivating an audience with her very raw and rugged poems.

Intimate Grind Apparel
One of my favorite urban brands is Intimate Grind Apparel. The line is saturated with inspiration and empowerment. One of my favorite pieces from this line is the “Power” sweater and the “Selfie” tee (both pictured below). The Power Sweater is worn here by Dymond, owner of Intimate Grind Apparel. Power is spelled out in reflective print giving the sweater a radiant glow. Want these pieces in your wardrobe? Contact:

Myrlande Georges
Jewelry Designer, Myrlande Georges, hand makes some amazing pieces. While looking at her collection, the ladies necklace stood out to me. She explained to me that the necklace is made out of dried mango skin. If you’re looking for a chic statement piece, this is it!
Ambiance Couture Bowtie
The Bowtie has always been a very classic look. It has evolved from it’s suit and bow tie uniform to an unisex statement piece. Ambiance Couture Bowtie has capitalized off of that trend. Silki, owner of this hand-made, hand-tailored bowtie brand, has mastered the art of mixing patterns and textures together. These bowties are anything BUT boring! Take a look at some of my favorite bowties from her collection. See something you like? Contact her at:

Performances:
The night was filled with amazing performances. From music to poetry, the talent ran rampant through The Gallery Bar. I definitely enjoyed the rawness of both Parlay (@parlay) and DaRuddest Jones( @DaruddestJones). They offered great energy and thought evoking words. Empress Poetry was softer, sensual and mood setting. It was the perfect contrast. The music by Young Tef (@YoungTef) was a teaser! She had presence and confidence. Overall, the performances mixed with the vendors made for an amazing event!
